HCR Thanks Volunteers In Style
Harvey Community Radio, like most community radio stations, relies on community volunteers to donate their time to ensure the station can continue to broadcast local content and promote Australian music. The station also relies on volunteer networks and enjoys working together with them to provide a service according to community needs and wants.
On Friday 26 June 2018 the station was bursting at the seams with volunteers representing community radio stations from the South West including Bunbury, Collie, Donnybrook/Balingup and Augusta. We also welcomed volunteers from Harvey Lions, Harvey Community Resource Centre and Harvey Local Drug Action Group.
The event was live broadcasted to the world via online streaming from our website and visitors had an opportunity to record station IDs and promotions. Tony Fantasia was presenter extrordinaire for the morning and interviewed each volunteer representative who spoke about their organisation's role in the community.
Chairperson David Marshall addressed the group and thanked everyone for their committment to community and made particular reference to the unique way Harvey community groups are working together to share resources rather than acting independently to provide the sort of community we want our children to grow up in.
Harvey Community Radio would like to acknowledge the support of Volunteering Australia and Lotterywest who made it possible to thank volunteers in the style they deserve.
