PERMANENT LICENCE -20 MAY 2016
MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRPERSON-DAVID MARSHALL
You may or may not be aware, but 20 May, 2016 our long term radio broadcast licence was officially in operation.
Despite being “on air” since 12th June 2004, we have always operated on a Temporary Community Broadcast Licence (TCBL). As with any temporary licence, it comes with it's own restrictions including opportunity to budget and plan for long term projects. The HCR community are excited about the prospects of 'planning for the future' (ourselves, community, financial etc) and creative ideas are being developed as we speak.
The permanent licence has come about through a very successful partnership between Harvey Mainstreet Inc, Harvey Community Radio and the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) over many years.
If you have any “big picture” ideas with long term community benefits then feel free to share them with myself or any of our current management committee.
Thank you to everyone involved (past and present) who have contributed to make us “who we are” and I look forward with great expectation and excitement as to what might be achieved into the future.
